Description: Cloud computing is changing the way people and institutions use the internet and providing new life to older machines. Cloud computing can broadly be seen as a shift from desktop-based computing to using software that runs right from your web browser. In this course we will survey of some of the best free online applications available today including tools like Pixlr for image editing, Sliderocket for presentations, Google Docs & Zoho for word processing, Voicethread and Vuvox for mixed content, and others. We will also explore the advantages and disadvantages to using these tools and address issues such as property ownership, data privacy, limitations, portability, and connectivity. (3 hour class)

1. Participants will be aware of the potential online applications and cloud computing offer.

3. Participants will learn ways to integrate online applications in their classroom.
